Short description

Discover the hidden and charming settlements of the Fiság Valley, Csíkmenaság and Pottyond, and you will be surprised by its cultural heritage. The Székelys are famous for carving wood, which is the most extended form of traditional art, along with weaving fabrics. The best known carved items of the Székelys are the symbolic wooden gates. Here we visit an old one from 1775 located on its original spot then explore the local etnographic collection where we can get acquinted with the Székely folk costumes, customs and old painted furnitures. Here we taste the unique Menaság soup served for lunch by a lovely local family and if there is enough time, we can even try out baking the famous chimney cake (kürtőskalács) for dessert. After lunch we visit the fortified church built in the 15th century in Gothic style, then explore the local etnographic collection where we can get acquinted with the Székely folk costumes, customs and old painted furnitures.
